The Athens Federal Foundation announced today that it will award at least $134,000 to area IRS-qualifying charitable organizations during the 2018 calendar year. Grant applications will be available June 1 at any Athens Federal Community Bank office and online at www.athensfederal.com.

The one-month grant application period ends June 27, 2018 at 4 p.m. EST. Grant recipients will be announced in October and awards will be distributed during the fourth quarter. All non-profit organizations in Athens Federal's service area that fit the Foundation's mission are encouraged to apply, including those in Bradley, McMinn, Meigs, Monroe, Loudon and Polk counties. The Foundation anticipates receiving more requests for support than it can approve, but encourages all applicants to apply and keep the Foundation informed of their activities and needs.
